The history of my County 1474
These are photos of the County 1474 tractor which has been fully restored. I bought the County a few years ago now(Classic Tractor classified ad). The tractor was partly restored - it had a new reconditioned engine clutch and dual power and hydraulic pumps.
When I took the tractor home my brother stripped it down and put in new seals and bearings in the axles, fitted a new transmission pump and checked pto clutch pack. Then it was sent to professional restorer Ewan Gerrard, who stripped the tractor down before blasting and painting it. He also had to get a new diesel tank made as the old one was porous. The cab was in poor condition so I had to use a cab off a Ford 9700 tractor. The tractor was originally supplied new to Ernest Doe - registration number dva576v to Ryston farm company on 7.7.80 but where it has been after that I don’t know.
The images below show various stages of the restoration project. Which is now finished and was sold in 2013
